2004 Feeling 44 DI
Performance • Shoal Draft Versatility • Offshore Capability
The 2004 Alliaura Feeling 44 DI is a rare and highly capable cruising yacht that blends true offshore performance with the extraordinary versatility of a lifting keel design. Built by the renowned French yard Alliaura Marine, this vessel is engineered for strength, comfort, and serious passagemaking — while offering access to shallow cruising grounds that most 44-foot yachts simply cannot reach.
With her 12v hydraulic centerboard (secondary manual hydraulic), this Feeling 44 transitions seamlessly from deep-draft offshore performance to shoal-draft exploration. Whether crossing bluewater passages or slipping into the turquoise shallows of the Bahamas, Chesapeake, or Florida’s west coast, she delivers capability without compromise.
The Advantage
The Feeling 44 DI stands apart from traditional cruising yachts. She offers:
- True offshore structural integrity
- Twin rudder performance
- Adjustable draft for shallow cruising
- Beaching capability
- Three-cabin comfort
- Shorthanded-friendly sail plan
For sailors seeking a yacht capable of crossing oceans while still exploring shallow banks and protected anchorages, this is a rare and highly desirable design.
Construction & Design
The hull is molded in a single solid piece for maximum structural integrity, while the deck is vacuum-bagged sandwich construction — providing excellent stiffness and weight efficiency. Reinforced floor beams bonded directly to the hull distribute mast and rigging loads, and all bulkheads are fully bonded to hull and deck to create a strong, unified structure.
The cast iron ballast keel is faired into the hull lines and incorporates stabilizing winglets, allowing the vessel to safely take the ground without additional supports. The streamlined centerboard is operated by a hydro-electric pump, giving you adjustable draft for optimized sailing performance or shallow-water access.
Twin balanced GRP rudders mounted on stainless steel stocks provide excellent control and responsiveness, even when heeled.
Molded GRP skegs protect and house the propeller shaft, and all deck fittings and fastenings are molybdenum stainless steel or anodized light alloy for durability in offshore environments.
